Sudan Healthcare Crisis: System on the Brink
The conflict has devastated Sudan's healthcare infrastructure, leaving millions without access to essential medical services.
Disease outbreaks have surged 300% since April 2023, with cholera, malaria, and measles spreading rapidly through displaced communities.
Gender-Based Violence in Sudan: Growing Crisis
Gender-based violence has escalated dramatically since conflict intensified. Women and girls face increasing risks in displacement settings.
Most cases go unreported due to stigma and lack of support services. Displacement camps have become particularly dangerous for unaccompanied minors and women.
Safehold Sudan has established 12 safe spaces for survivors across displacement zones. Our protection teams conduct regular patrols in vulnerable areas.
War Prisoners in Sudan: Facing Torture, Famine and Death
The plight of war prisoners in Sudan represents one of the most severe humanitarian crises within the larger conflict. Detained individuals face systematic abuse, extreme food deprivation, and widespread torture in makeshift detention facilities across conflict zones.

Mass Killings and Torture
Human rights observers have documented at least 28 incidents of mass killings within detention facilities since April 2023. Torture methods include severe beatings, electric shocks, and psychological abuse, with many prisoners held in severely overcrowded cells without adequate ventilation or sanitation.
Famine as a Weapon
Food deprivation is systematically used to weaken prisoners, with some detention centers providing less than 400 calories per day. Medical reports indicate prisoners losing up to 40% of their body weight before succumbing to starvation-related illnesses.
Massacre Sites
Satellite imagery and survivor testimonies have identified 12 mass grave locations near detention facilities, with evidence suggesting systematic execution of prisoners. International forensic teams have been denied access to these sites by conflict parties.
