Safehold Sudan: Empowering Displaced Sudanese Communities
About Us
Safehold Sudan delivers vital humanitarian aid and relief to Sudanese communities displaced by conflict, offering immediate life-saving assistance and building sustainable pathways to recovery.
Why Safehold Sudan? Our Difference
While large international organizations provide critical scale, Safehold Sudan fills the gap they cannot — delivering community-led, locally embedded support that reaches the most overlooked displaced populations.
Community-Led
We work through trusted local networks , not top-down pipelines ; ensuring aid reaches families directly, with dignity.
Hyper-Targeted
Unlike large INGOs managing 14+ states, we focus our resources where needs are most acute and underserved.
Accountable & Transparent
Inspired by NRC's cash programming model (96.1% beneficiary satisfaction), we prioritize measurable, reported impact over volume.
Only a fraction
of SHF funding reaches local Sudanese responders directly

The Gap We Fill
International aid systems are overwhelmed, underfunded, and structurally unable to reach the most isolated communities. Safehold Sudan exists to close that gap.

Partnerships in Action: Delivering Aid Where It Matters
Safehold Sudan cultivates strong alliances with implementing partners in Chad, significantly amplifying our reach. A cornerstone of these collaborations is our work with the Re-Hope Organization for Humanity, with whom we've successfully executed several vital feeding projects. These initiatives directly benefit Sudanese refugees in Eastern Chad, providing essential nutritional support to vulnerable families.
Safehold's Presence: On the Ground Support
Safehold Sudan is actively present where support is most needed, offering crucial help and care to Sudanese refugees. Through dedicated initiatives, such as the "Merciful Winter Initiative," in collaboration with the Re-Hope Organization for Humanity in Eastern Chad, we deliver life-saving aid and unwavering support during critical times.
Sudan Crisis: The Human Cost
The ongoing conflict in Sudan has created a humanitarian crisis of staggering proportions. These numbers reveal the scale of displacement and suffering.
Nearly 5 million people have been forced from their homes. Over 18,000 casualties reported. Destruction has ravaged 60% of healthcare facilities and 40% of schools in conflict zones.

Sudan Healthcare Crisis:
System on the Brink
The conflict has devastated Sudan's healthcare infrastructure, leaving millions without access to essential medical services. Disease outbreaks have surged 300% since April 2023, with cholera, malaria, and measles spreading rapidly through displaced communities.
Gender-Based Violence in Sudan: Growing Crisis
Gender-based violence has escalated dramatically since conflict intensified. Women and girls face increasing risks in displacement settings. Most cases go unreported due to stigma and lack of support services. Displacement camps have become particularly dangerous for unaccompanied minors and women. Safehold Sudan has established 12 safe spaces for survivors across displacement zones. Our protection teams conduct regular patrols in vulnerable areas.
Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA)
Safehold Sudan is fully committed to the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) in all its operations. We uphold a strict zero-tolerance policy toward any form of sexual exploitation, abuse, or harassment by our staff, volunteers, or partners. All personnel are required to complete mandatory PSEA training, and we maintain confidential, accessible reporting mechanisms for affected communities.
Safehold Sudan's PSEA policy is aligned with the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Six Core Principles and the UN Secretary-General's Bulletin ST/SGB/2003/13.
War Prisoners in Sudan: Facing Torture, Famine and Death
The plight of war prisoners in Sudan represents one of the most severe humanitarian crises within the larger conflict. Detained individuals face systematic abuse, extreme food deprivation, and widespread torture in makeshift detention facilities across conflict zones.

Mass Killings and Torture
Since April 2023, human rights observers have documented 28 mass killings in detention facilities. Prisoners endure severe torture, including beatings and electric shocks, in overcrowded, unsanitary cells.
Famine as a Weapon
Food deprivation is systematically used, providing under 400 calories daily to some prisoners. This leads to severe weight loss, often up to 40%, and subsequent deaths from starvation-related illnesses.
Massacre Sites
Satellite imagery and survivor testimonies reveal 12 mass grave sites near detention facilities, indicating systematic executions. International forensic teams have been denied access by conflict parties.
